Reader's Manual
Welcome! This is the reader’s manual for my blog; aka the readme.txt.
How I Categorize My Posts
Entries are categorized into one of five types:
Journal Entry – These are more or less along the lines of your typical blog post. In these I will focus on my career and the lessons I have learned along the way.
Status Report – These are essentially development logs. I will talk about what I am doing on whatever personal project I am working on.
Methinks – These are requisite opinion pieces on things I’ve played or things that are going on in the industry.
Debriefing – These are postmortems, which in case you don’t know, are usually somewhat lengthy pieces on all the things that went right and wrong during a project.
System Update – These will be fairly rare, used only for announcing any changes to the blog or the website as a whole.
How I Run My Blog
First thing of note is that, at least right now, I have absolutely no schedule for posting. The only thing that might follow any kind of pattern are the status reports, which I will try to do at least every other week; but that’s only when I have a personal project in development that I want to and/or am able to talk about.
The other thing of note is that I write very casually, less like a journalist and more like I’m having a conversation with you face to face. That being said, this is a portfolio site so I will keep things professional-ish.
So that’s about it. If I think of anything else I’ll just add it to this post and not say anything so it looks like I didn’t forget it. Enjoy!
